"Let them run further"
On 19th of November Serres is hosting it’s 33rd Gyros Run. The race will take part in the city center and starts in front of the National Bank of Serres.
Gyros Run has 4 different distances to take part. First category is „Special Olympics“ for people with disabilities with distance of 400 m. Second distance is for elementary school students with 1,400 m. For high school students and older there are two options – 2,500 m or 5000 m.
The race is dedicated to the prevention and fight against obesity and through that promote healthier lifestyle. We the PRAXIS team have decided to also participate and make our contribution to this.
Furthermore, with this race PRAXIS Greece as an organisation with United Nations global initiative TOGETHER would like start a campaign „LET THEM RUN FURTHER“ to collect running shoes for the children and youngsters in the LTAC Serres. Runners as well anyone else will have the opportunity to give their old and used running shoes in good condition to the people and families in need.
Being able to run and play is important for everyone and having proper shoes for that makes the experience even better. It is necessary that our children are moving and spending time outside making sports – living an active lifestyle.
So, if you have pair of used running shoes – in good condition – laying around in your home. Bring them to the Gyros Run and let them live a new life bringing happiness to someone in need.
