The reworks festival
These two sentences sum up so well the reworks festival spirit : we arrived in Thessaloniki suburbs, in an area where it is first nothing extraordinary to look at. The reworks festival took place in the Milos club : we passed the entrance door with our bracelets, and entered in a yard of mix between old and charismatic buildings and a great party atmosphere. The music was already in full swing, young people were gathering in front of the biggest stage. First artists we were listening were Kodebostany band members, with an incredible remake of the song Crazy in love, with rap parts very well driven, and with their famous Castle in the snow which made everybody vibrate.
We discovered here new talents, music styles were really diversified. During the night, we listened both electro swing and electro house, include pop or even techno. The music quality was here, the atmosphere was good-natured, we met other people, spoke very freely : people went here for fun, to enjoy music.
After the biggest stage, we navigated through different other rooms before arriving to the one where Boogie belgique members were playing, an electro swing band of whom one of us is a big fan. We enjoyed and danced whithout taking a break, and without thinking that later in the night, we would be sat in a circle on the ground with them, speaking about their work and about how they met each other, about the Belgium situation, about the event, about our dear franch language of which the accent follow us all the time and about its subtle words... . It's also what offer this festival : the possibility to talk from friend to friend with artists in a so simple and relaxed way.
Then, we listened to Daniel Miller, one of the technopop and electronic music creators, who totally reached his reputation level.
Even when the party went until the first sunrays, the music didn't lost quality for electro music's fans. Participants slowly went back, legs exhausted but with a smile on their lips. Besides muscial discoveries, above all, this festival is a human experience.
