15 July is World Youth Skills Day
July 15th is a world day for youth skills. This initiative was born to help the new generations to be ready for future jobs. In fact a study has established that by 2030, half of the young people in the world will not have the basic skills they need to get a job, and two billion jobs are likely to become obsolete because of technological developments.
With technological progress, we do not have the same ease to find a job.
The machines are going to replace many of the old tasks, therefore the new generations must adapt to changes, acquire skills to cover more complicated roles than in the past, but it’s not all.
The acquisition of skills is essential to enter the labor market, to create a saleable professional figure.
This is why the choice on what to study is extremely important. Based on our own abilities, predispositions and the things that we like, we have to base our studies on acquiring skills. Only with passion can we do our jobs to the fullest.
The most important thing is to understand that each of us has a kind of talent, we just have to find out and cultivate it.
Each of us should ask himself or herself about our own goals and what they could become if only they really wanted it.
Success is something that starts from the inside, we should follow a dream, a desire, a vision and make the quality of our life better.
