The problem is that this practice is seen as a religious, ethnic or even sexual practice and 49 countries still have no laws protecting women from domestic violence. In some countries FGM(Female Genital Mutilation) is even nowadays common and much more gender equality is needed. The society is in need of a collaboration. Everyone has to work towards a world without violence against women and girls and for sure achieving gender equality requires stepping up efforts on all fronts.
