World Music Day 21 June

The 21th of June is officially that day when people celebrate the music all around the world. On this occasion I would like to talk about why the music is so important to me because this kind of art has a really big impact to my life.
I think I started to listen music when I was 11 years old. Nineteen years ago was a big turn in my life when I met with video clips on the music channels, I bought every newspaper where I could get more information about music, the life of the singers, I spent all of my money for CDs. Just like everyone in this age the wall of my room was covered with pictures of bands. The style changed in time. Pop music was replaced by the love of rock music, which has never gone away I just met with many new styles over the years. My mother was the first person who took me to the concerts of my actual favourite bands. When I was 17 I became a friend of a girl who listened the same music like me and we started to go concerts together. Our first concert experience was the performance of a hungarian reggae band. It was a whole new experience for me because it was totally live. I felt the power of music, the bass in my heart, I got a lot of energy that night what I never felt before. That summer we went to concerts every second night to listen rock, reggae, ska, rockabilly, jazz, alternative music, styles what I never heard before in the television. At the end of the summer I had many new friends. The love of the same kind of music make connections between the people who feel and thinking on the similar way. When the time of the career choice came in my life the only job which came to my mind was music journalist so I studied media and communication at the university. I started to write arcticles for music magazines, I got free tickets if I wrote reports about the events. The other side of the music industry became interesting for me, working with music bands, organizing events so I started a music manager course. Apart from travel and met with new cultures one of the reason why I applied to the EVS was to be more professional in the media field, improve my english because I want to work on bigger festivals with foreign bands. I am usually a litte bit shy person but if I work on festivals I am never thinking, never afraid of anything, just do what I like.  After all these information what I shared about me I can tell that the music totally changed my life. I got energy, friends, I have a goal in my life what I want to fight for.

The world's countries have recognized the seriousness of the situation.
Children in India sometimes work in very dangerous environments, such as fireworks or mines, but also find many minor employees in the textile industry. Other particularly affected areas are Nepal and Bangladesh, Indonesia. On 23th and 24th of May 2018, our volunteers helped local kindergardens with painting the summer theatre next to it.

Within the framework of the Panhellenic Educational Program, the 7th and 10th Kindergardens of Serres took part in landscaping and upgrading the summer theatre located in their neighbouring open area. Our volunteers named Bertalan Dudás, Julian Heyder, Vera Lennartz, Karolin Rippich and Edina Szathmári participated in this activity along with the artist Vasilis Vafiadis and the little kids from the kindergarden with their teachers.

From our perspective, it was a really good experience, we enjoyed every wokring seconds with the kindergarden. Those little children were really enthusiastic, fun to be around, theirs teachers were also extremely nice to us. It was also a good opportunity to show to those little children, even at this young age, the importance of volunteering and active citizenship. We hope that we can work together for another good cause in the future.

World Oceans Day 8th of June

On the 8th of June we pay more attention to the oceans with its amazing wildlife. The oceans have an important role in our lives, because they greatly promote oxygen production, food and medicine source. We celebrate World Oceans Day since 1992. At first Canadian nature conservation organizations payed attention to the problem of water pollution.
The goal of this day to draw people's attention to the importance of protecting the oceans and unite the world's population because together we are more successful. The human activities contribute to the pollution of the ocean.
This year we are focusing to the preventing plastic pollution and encouraging solutions for a healthy ocean. This is a threatening problem because the 80 percent of all pollution comes from humans. The 8 million tonnes plastic which gets into the ocean as a result of fisheries and tourism every year wreaking havoc on wildlife. The plastic pillution is the responsible for the death of 1 million seabirds and 100.000 marinare mammals and 8 billion marine ecosystems each year. It is also bad for our health because we eat the contaminated fish.
What can we do for the oceans?
There are many small things what we can do for a better future like using less plastic and recycle what we use. ne metter where you live you can support this initiation.
In the social media use these hashtags to express your support: #WorldOceansDay, #SaveOurOcean
