A change. Yes. But by which way?

This year, every citizen all over the world wait concreted solutions from States during the COP. The 21st COP is the 21st meeting for the climate change and will be in Paris from this 30 november to 11 december. The aim is to succeed to a global agreement in order to limited the temperature’s increase at 2 degree on 2050.
In order to limit this temperature’s increase, we have to reduce hardly the greenhouse gas emission. That is mainly caused by the human’s activities. Concretely, the States get together to elaborate an action plan which can do over all the human’s activities.
According to the States from COP 21, the solution is to stop funding the fossil fuel project. And instead of that, to develop renewable energy and introduce the urban energy renewal.
In order to fund this actions, it will be necessary to exploit public money (Government’s budget, collectivities, public banks) and private money (private banks, private savings). Basically, we need the commitment from all the players in order to fund environmental project and stop with the fossil fuel.
And the State have to show the good example towards the private investors putting an important part of his budget in the environmental projects. We have to be united between countries because all are not the same action capacities. So the North States are involved to give 100 billion dollars to the South States every year from the year 2020. But for the moment we don’t know really where this money have to take place in what kind of project.

Alright. The climate change seems to be on the way. But I would like to nuance. The solution for a climate transition would be to get out the fossil fuel of the economic priorities. But do you know that the first reason of the increase of the climate change is not this fossil fuel economy but well the intensive farming? But the question is often moved aside...

Article on the Occasion of COP21 by Sina Gösele

Have you ever heard about Carbon Trading? Well, if not, it is about time! This weekend a big conference about climate change with leaders from all over the world will take place in Paris. Maybe you have already seen the hashtag COP21. The yearly event is the successor of for example the meeting in Kyoto, where the Kyoto protocol was signed in 1997. It is incredibly important that our world leaders find a compromise, make concessions and sign a binding agreement to stop climate change. COP21 is our last chance to limit global warming to 2°!

What is Carbon Trading?

In the EU, Carbon Trading plays a big role in order to limit Carbon Dioxide Emissions and they started the first and largest allowance trading system in 2005, which is called Emissions Trading System (ETS). The trick is to create a financial incentive for companies to cut their emissions.

history of the c.o.p

26/11/2015

On Sunday 30th will take place the 21st Conference of the Parties in Le Bourget, Paris. It will be the 21st yearly session of the Conference of the Parties to the 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the 11th session of the Meeting of the Parties to the 1997 Kyoto Protocol.

The first Conference ever took place in Stockholm in 1972, it was the first conference that treated  the subject of environment in an international way. During this meeting all the heads of state engaged themselves to reunite every 10 years to discuss about the topic of pollution in the world. They also agreed upon a Declaration containing 26 principles concerning the environment and development, an action plan with 109 recommendations and a resolution. This meeting had a huge impact on environmental politics as in 1972 there were no more than 10 Ministry of Environment when in 1982 there were as many as 110 Ministry or secretariat dedicated to environment.

In 1982, the World Charter for Nature was adopted by the U.N on October 28, 1982, it proclaims "five principles of conservation by which all humans conduct affecting nature is to be guided and judged".

Then, in 1992, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) was adopted during the Rio de Janeiro Earth Summit followed by the Kyoto protocol in 1997 which is an extension of the UNFCCC.

The goal in the Kyoto protocol was to reduce greenhouse gas reduction which was a milestone in environment politics as well as fighting global warming, the Kyoto protocol was adopted on 11 December 1997 and was effective on 16 February 2005 and as of June 2012 192 parties signed the protocol. On 31 December 2012 the commitment period of the protocol expired and was extended by the Doha amendment which induces new commitments for the 2013-2020 period. As of April 2015, 26 states have signed the extension of the protocol.

Let's hope that the countries all over the world will continue or start the fight against global warming, greenhouse gases emission, and pollution in general so that our world can be a better place and so that we could leave a brighter future for our children.

The global warming

Picture
Every second one person moves on account of climate change an global warming.

The climate refugee could be one of the most important challenge of the twenty century. Climate change is cause by natural events such as volcanic eruptions (it happened many time since earth was formed) but global warming is because of humans activities :
-cutting down forest = warming greenhouse gases
-rising temperatues and global warming = glaciers and ice elaps = create flooding and make sea level rise
- rising temperature = desertification

The sea level rise 0.6 meter during the last century it cause problem in low lying coastal area.
More informations about the climate refugees statistics:

The sea level rise 0.6 meter during the last century it cause problem in low lying coastal area.

The Tuvalu state exemple:

The Tuvalu state is in Pacific ocean in Polynesia. It is one of the smaller country in the world. There is 11600 citizens only, they don’t have a real economy except fishing, they survive thank to the international programs help, the tourism it is not develop because it is real complicated to reach this place. The highest point in this atoll is only 5 meters above the sea level. On account of global warming they already know that everybody have to leave the country the next years.
According to the scientists the Tuvalu state will totally disappear this century so the governement make a deal already with Australia and New Zealand for host the citizens.

It is just an exemple, at present in the world there is three more climatic refugees than war refugees.

The 30th of november will start COP21 in Paris for 10 days, it is the most important meeting about climate change with 147 governements. You can be a part of it and follows the discussions:

The global warming

26/11/2015

The Earth's climate has changed throughout history. Just in the last 650,000 years there have been seven cycles of glacial advance and retreat.
About 7000 years ago, it was the last ice age which end abruptly and marked the beginning of the modern climate era, and of human civilization.
Most of these climate changes are attributed to very small variations in Earth’s orbit that change the amount of solar energy our planet receives. But the difference nowadays is that this climate warming is created by human and not by small variations in Earth's orbit.
Ice cores drawn from Greenland, Antarctica, and tropical mountain glaciers show that the Earth’s climate responds to changes in greenhouse gas levels. They also show that in the past, large changes in climate have happened very quickly, geologically-speaking : in tens of years, not in millions or even thousands.
